Xquisite athlete competes in Asian Artistic Gymnastics Games
Congrats to Xquisite's Karla Frank who has earned a place on the Thailand National gymnastics team and competed in the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Games held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 18-24. In her first international competition, Karla earned the highest floor score for the Thai team.
The Asian Games is a traditional elite competition for both men's and woman's gymnastics. In this seventh showing of international gymnastics, 128 athletes from 20 different countries were represented.
Karla trains at X-Cel Gymnastics in Cranberry Township and is a member of X-Cel's Xquisite Competitive Gymnastics Team under owner and head coach Lindsey Stancil and assistant coach Nate Culichia. She is a recognized Level 10 gymnast by the USA Gymnastics Association.
"I can't express how proud we are of Karla to receive this honor. Competing on an international stage requires composure, confidence and nerves of steel. To begin her international competition experience by leading the Thai team in floor is simply amazing." said Lindsey.
Since the competition, Karla has returned to the states and has completed her school year at Mars Area High School with honors in all of her academic classes. She is currently preparing to travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September of this year to participate in the South East Asia (SEA) Games competition representing Thailand.
