Program Structure
The Recreational Program is designed for any child ages 6 - 18 years of age who wishes to learn basic skills in gymnastics. We teach each element through a detailed system of progressions. This enables each athlete to feel success in any level. Our progression method teaches gymnastic skills that build to provide a safe and exciting atmosphere for the student.
Class Structure All of our recreational classes are taught on a rotation schedule. As there are numerous classes being held at the same time, the rotation schedule enables each class equal time on the events.
The warm-up rotation is either 10 or 15 min depending on the class level. All groups will rotate to their designated area. During the warm-ups, the children will have 3 minutes of aerobic activity with the time remaining spent on stretching muscles. Occasionally, we will play a game during this time. After warm-ups, the children separate into their classes and rotate to their first event.
The beginner classes (level 1, 2, and 3) are one hour; therefore, they generally will have 10 minute rotations on each event and a double rotation on floor. The intermediate and advanced classes (4, 5, and 6) are 1 1/2 hours. These classes will occupy 15 minute rotations on each event with a double rotation on floor.
