The philosophy of preschool movement education is based on the development of the total child. Movement activities affect all aspects of child development - physical, social, intellectual and emotional. Creative movement is fundamental to the lives of young children as they move to explore their everyday surroundings. Movement exercises help children use their senses to guide every action and build total body awareness and self-confidence. Children can learn much about their abilities and their potential through a directed creative movement program. The objectives of X-Cel's educational movement programs include body awareness, improved motor coordination, strength and flexibility, movement exploration, creative movement, problem solving techniques, group participation, cooperation and improved self esteem. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe, challenging environment which enables each child to feel good about themselves and the experiences in the gym. Learning basic tumbling skills will also help the child to adjust to other sports in future years.
Beginning with the youngest ages from 12 months - 20 months, we begin with the Baby Bears. This class progresses into Climbing Cubs from 18 months to 3 years. Then it is off to the Jumping Jaguars for ages 3 - 4. The Tumbling Tamarins are our 4 - 5 year olds. And we round out the progression with the Tip-Up Toucans who are the kindergarten age group.
